Science Technician

GRADE H1 (2) to H3 (6) + FRINGE ALLOWANCE

(Salary scale dependent upon experience)

Term time only plus one Inset Day in September

16 hours per week

Overview

Loreto St Albans is an 11-18 girls’ academy recognised by OFSTED as outstanding in all areas. With the support of our enthusiastic and accomplished staff our students achieve excellent results, and the Progress 8 performance measure has regularly placed Loreto in the top 4% of schools in the country.  The school is oversubscribed and has earned an excellent reputation for discipline, pastoral care and academic standards.

The Science department have a vacancy for a part-time Science Technician.   The successful applicant will need to be flexible and adaptable.  Some scientific background would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be given where appropriate. The job is varied involving the setting up and clearing away of equipment, maintenance and repair of equipment and the trialling of experiments.  A good sense of humour is an absolute must, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This post is term time only plus one inset day, 16 hours per week (the specific working days will be negotiated with the successful candidate).  The annual salary range (including fringe allowance) which is based on the working pattern outlined is approximately £8,374.00 to £8,929.00 per annum (dependent upon experience).
