MFL Fun Day 2024 | Yr8

On Friday 27 September, the MFL Department once again delivered a lively, engaging and enjoyable day for our Yr8 students. Lots was achieved, and the students got a chance to find out about the importance of learning and appreciating different languages and cultures from all around the world. They also got an opportunity to value the interdisciplinary nature of communicating in another language, and the wealth of career paths available as a result.

Here's a couple of our students' reflections:

I really enjoyed MFL Fun Day as it gave me the chance to explore different languages, cultures, and lifestyles. What I liked the most was the music quiz, where I was able to learn more about various genres of music people all over the world listen to.

The Year 8 Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) morning was both engaging and enjoyable. We explored various cultural traditions from different countries, gaining insight into their unique customs. Additionally, we were introduced to how foreign language skills can be applied in a range of careers, broadening our understanding of the practical benefits of learning MFL.
