Cressida Cowell at St Albans Cathedral
A group of Year 7s were privileged to attend the 40th anniversary celebrations of St Albans Cathedral’s Education Centre with superstar author Cressida Cowell.
Cressida Cowell MBE and Children’s Laureate (2019-22) has sold over 16 million books worldwide in 42 languages. She talked about how she spent her childhood summers on a deserted Scottish island which was the inspiration for her hugely successful ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ series of books.
Arya 7Y commented: “Cressida is a brilliant author who really related to us tweens. She gave us great advice and knew how to make us laugh. She was really inspiring.”
Grace 7T added: ”I was really inspired by her talk, especially when she said that the rocks on the island looked like a sleeping dragon.”
