Careers Fair 2024
On Friday 8 March, to cap off a very successful National Careers Week at Loreto College, we hosted our annual careers fair in the hall and workshop. We were lucky enough to be supported by representatives from a number of different organisations, industries, professions and educational providers. During period 2 the fair was open exclusively to Year 11 pupils as part of their PSHE programme, then to Year 9, period 3. And everyone was welcome to pop along during break time. The fair provided students with a fine opportunity to address many of the eight Gatsby benchmarks for Good Careers Guidance, including:
- A stable careers programme
- Learning from career and labour market information
- Addressing the needs of each pupil
- Linking curriculum learning to careers
- Encounters with employers and employees
- Experiences of workplaces
- Encounters with further and higher education
- Personal guidance
During the fair students wandered round the different stalls to help them start thinking about their future plans and aspirations. The event was relaxed and flexible to enable students to find out about as many different jobs, professions, and industries as possible.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the following companies and individuals who gave up their time to attend the fair and the staff involved in organising this event, including:
